What is dropshipping?
Drop shipping or "on-demand customer fulfillment" is a supply chain method whereby a seller does not directly stock the products they sell. Rather, order fulfillment and shipping are conducted by a wholesaler on behalf of the retailer. This effectively allows a retailer to focus their time on generating sales, while leaving fulfillment to warehouses. Retailers earn the difference between the warehouse cost and the selling price.
Sounds fairly straightforward. So, how does Shopster fit in? Let's have a quick look.
Dropshipping is an attractive online business. You don't need to stock your own products. That in itself gives dropshippers an edge. You avoid a time-intensive and expensive aspect of sales – the "supply chain". Essentially: You make a sale, a warehouse ships that order directly to your customer, you make the difference between the warehouse price and the selling price.
When we talk about a supply chain we're talking about the processes and relationships that are necessary for the successful completion of the sales cycle. As a retailer, your primary focus is making the sale. The supply chain is the behind-the-scenes fulfillment of that sale. Broken down into its parts, it includes: stocking products in warehouses and maintaining accurate data on those products, preventing fraudulent orders, shipping orders to customers, and processing payments (from customer; to supplier). These are all services Shopster provides.
People often underestimate the value of hands-off supply chain management. Truth be told, at the end of the day managing the supply chain for even a couple orders can be a full-time job. With Shopster, we handle the supply chain so you can focus on sales.
The Internet is rife with dropshipping schemes. These people want you to sign-up for the rights to their catalog of dropship suppliers. Shopster does not do this. When you sign up for Shopster, you're getting a supply chain solution and access to the tools that are an essential component to success in online sales. Our "catalog of dropship suppliers" is fully integrated into a virtual warehouse. This warehouse lets you populate your Shopster storefront with products and gives you quick access to products to sell on auction sites like eBay.
On top of that, you get full customer support, access to marketing tools and resources, storefront customization tools, and much more.
